Personal Background
Born in Scotland and growing up in Ireland, I developed an appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures at an early age. I am currently an avid sportsman involved in kite boarding, surfing, mountain biking and snowboarding. I have a lifelong history as a waterman, including windsurfing for the British Olympic Sailing Team and a decade as a professional windsurfer with numerous U.S. national titles to my name. Since moving to Santa Cruz in 1990, I have lived in Aptos, the East Side, Bonny Doon, and I now call the West Side home. I am familiar and knowledgeable with many aspects of each neighborhood.
